GreenHulk's GP1800 build up thread
Well everyone, I just picked up my GP1800 yesterday and am very happy. Here's some pictures of it next to my FZS. Perfect match don't you think?
I will use this thread to document the entire build process of the ski. Hope you enjoy!

The very first thing I did my new GP1800 was ceramic coat it. I had previously had this product made by Velocity Visions applied to my car and I fell in love with it. So i then applied it to my boat and other skis. In fact, I love it so much I convinced them to make up some smaller kits for PWC's of which I will distribute here in the forums store.... about 2 more weeks. These kits will sell for $79.95 and there is enough product to coat 2 to 3 skis.
You guys will love this stuff! You've probably seen it used before in automotive applications. It's easy to apply and creates a hard clear coat finish. It's 10 times harder than any automotive clear coat which makes it extremely scratch resistant and the best thing about it is it's hydrophobic. Water literally bounces off of it when sprayed which makes your ski super easy to clean. One application will last 2-3 years.
Here's a quick video I made when on the water today breaking in the GP1800
here's another longer video telling all about the product and showing how water just runs off instantly from my skis, boat and car. Good stuff!
Attached are some picturs showing what comes with the kit. Check out the shine this stuff produces

So the info everyone is waiting for
My son and I headed out on the water this morning to get some break in time on it. I believe in a hard break in so I had no problem going full throttle after the ski was properly warmed up. I varied the throttle and rode it HARD for ohhhh, about .8 hours. The ski hit 71 on GPS, but the limiter kicks in and drags it right back down to 69 mph. I had about enough of that so that's when I pulled out the MaptunerX and tuned it right there on the water.
Minutes after tuning the ski easily pulled 79.2 mph at 8300 RPM. This is bone stock, no mods and just the MaptunerX tune. The acceleration is brutal!
So, how does it compare to an FZ? Well lets look back at my FZS build up thread. Here you will see that my FZ when bone stock with a tune only ran 76-77 mph. That said, the GP1800 has it beat. Build up thread on my FZ is here

I can't wait to see what this beast is going to do with some mods. It will be interesting to see how the two hulls compare once I have the same mods on the GP as I do on the FZ. My FZ is currently running 86 mph.
Here's a video of that 79 mph run

So what's next? My plans are a Riva power filter, intake manifold upgrade, Riva pro series cooling, Fizzle intercooler, 13/18 impeller, WORX intake grate and Jim's modified ride plate and of course the updated GP1800 stage 2 tune. Should be interesting
