What is a safe rpm with Ti retainers, springs and lighter valves? Thanks

0 is definitely safe , OK good I'm running between 8850 and 9000 depending on weather.

Safe for some people may be an hour or 500 hours to others.

I think the better question is how much shorter is the life span of your engine at 9k vs 8k.

Depends on your definition of "safe"

Safe as in hurting longevity of motor? Safe from installing a window in the block? Safe from the prevention of installing an ex-wife in life?

What I've found is these 4TEC motors are very over-engineered but have mechanical weak links on a modded motor:
    Retainers
    Flywheel bolts
    Piston rings
Rocker arms* (if spinning high and springs/cam)
Exh valve guides (if spinning high and springs/cam)

    *not very common but happens

To answer your unspecific question. I will say 8800-8900 is pretty safe. You just need to be realistic - the higher any motor spins, the faster it wears.

Thanks , that is about where I will be spinning, I have ARP flywheel bolts, and new (30 hr ago) pistons and rings ,and complete head . Also a stage 2 cam . .416 Ext lift and .426 intake. My biggest concern was valve float.
