    Reduction nozzle vane question

The vanes in my reduction nozzle are quite eroded, would there be any adverse effects if I removed them all ? I also am going to try this billet reducer , found it on ebay , ended up getting it for $120 ( im pretty sure scaltrex is torx but i figured for that price its worth it just fot the 3 rings)it also has no fins ,

It's a billet cnc piece how bad can it be? Especially for 120.

Why not? Because it has rather small outlet rings! The rings are 80mm, 81mm and 82mm is the largest (WTF). All smaller than the standard 83mm (or 85?) that you are likely replacing.

Personally, if you are trying to lower RPM a little, I prefer the L13 cone instead. There is a point where a nozzle is simply too small and becomes very inefficient (ie. bottle-neck).

IMO: 83mm is the very smallest I would ever use on a modded SD.

Not looking to drop rpm , just looking to replace mine due to erosion, and a billet cone seemed like a good alternative, I was jut concerned about the lack of vanes. As far as the ring size I'm going to toss them on my lathe and open them up to match my stock nozzle.

Well I guess I should have looked at the pics better , it turns out that it has no siphon tube for the bailers.
