    How does this impeller look?

    Should I send this in for reconditioning, or should I buy a new aftermarket impeller?

    This is in a boat and there wasn't much in the way of performance loss, but I think my spins could be suffering...



    Thoughts?

    prop is starting to get some cavation burns in mid section of blade. It looks like the sealing edge of the blade to the wear ring is still good for now. There are still some run time left in this prop. How ever it will need refurbishing or replacing sometime in the future. Tommy JOrdan

    not new but good.
    cavitation damage the impeller but I don't think you can feel the dirrence in performance.
    change the impeller now is a waste of money.

    Generally those cavitation burns are caused by an air leak/pump sealing issue, or something wrapped around the driveshaft like a piece of rope/string. When I see one like that I usually will clean it with brake cleaner then compressed air. Then smear some JB Weld on there pushing it into the pits. Sand smooth. Definitely still runnable for a while.
