    I'm on my '17 RXT-260 Already!

I was going to wait until the first of the year to trade my '14 RXT-260 on a '17 but when I walked into Riva to pick up my '14 from the service department there was a '17 on the show floor so I did a deal that day.

I put 9 hours on it and I am very happy with it. There are some substantial improvements over the '14 model:

    1) The security system (which I believe was updated in '16) no longer relies on a metal to metal connection. The computer doesn't need to be "waken up" by pressing the stop/start switch. The tether just has to be plugged onto the post.

    2) The Ergolok system dramatically reduces strain on the arms and hands but a wetsuit is needed to prevent rash on the knees.

    3) The paddle shaped hand grips reduce the gripping force needed and I didn't notice the wear on my callouses like I did with the round grips I put on my '14.

    4) The weight at the bow is increased and it doesn't bounce over repetitive waves like the '14 hull did. It is much more "glued" to the water.

I know the "X" models get all of the attention but the 260 model is no slouch and it is about $1,200 cheaper. I also don't have to worry as much about fuel use as I would with a 300 HP model.

Nice, one of the better looking colour schemes BRP have put out over the last few years.

Thanks, and I agree-I have a thing about machines finished in the color blue. My Audi is Sprint Blue, my 911 is Midnight Blue, my '99 Grand Prix GTP was Medium Gulf Blue Metallic, and so on. The second I saw this machine in Octane Blue I knew I had to have one.

    Nice buy! Congrats!

However, I'm pretty sure that fuel consumption on the 260 is very similar to the 300...but then again, when you buy one of these, who cares about fuel cost!

I never rode a 300-I don't need that kind of power for the riding I do in the ocean. I used to ride a FZS but never a FX.

I gotcha,, how much more money is the 300 than the 260 just off the top of anyones head.
