    RXP 300 tune/riva filter questions

I finally got my ski on the water yesterday and I'm a little disappointed in the results. I have the Riva Power Filter, and Vtech Stock + Power Filter 8300 tune installed. The air was good yesterday morning with a 1400 DA (as good as I'll see). Lake is 135 ft elevation, temp 75, plugged the numbers in and 1400 DA it was. Anyway, full tank of gas, trim 2 up from neutral, RPM 8150-8180 steady top speed 75 mph. The day topped out at 88 degrees and 2100 DA and RPM's dropped to 8100-8120 but speed was still 75 even as fuel was burning off. Should I be dissapointed or am I on par? I was hoping to hit 77 but maybe that will only happen low on fuel, in the early morning with good air and water conditions. This off season I will be ordering up a stainless wear liner and have Dave at Impros bend the stock impeller for 150 more RPM's. I couldn't believe his work on my RXT 260. I was hitting 76/77 at 8400 rpms in the am and still running 8300-8350 in afternoon. Any comments or suggestions would be great!

You should be happy. But you can achieve 77 if you get your RPM up to 8300- like Riva ask you too.

Thanks, Do you know if there is a difference in performance between the stage 2 8500 tune and the stock+ power filter tune, no other changes? I was hoping to hit 77 yesterday so my dissapointment of sorts came from running 75 (hear of scom only running this) and having my RXT260 accelerate with and pull up top on my 300 in a side by side match up. My plan is to run the stage 2 8500 tune, tune stock impeller to 8300 and stainless wear ring. That should closely match what Riva claims as 80mph.

    tune it to 8400.
My 13 with a 137+4mm is still slower than my tuned 300 with RPM's at 8400.

I run 83 all the time and mid 84's with low fuel. The key is the prop+ RPM's set properly.
