2015 FX Cruiser SVHO - 70 hours and SEAT COMING APART

    Hi everyone,

I am wondering if anyone had similar issue with their Cruiser seat coming apart at the seam.
My ski is 2015 and has only 70 hours, i noticed the seat started coming apart.
Yes, i am rather big @ 270 lbs but my large rear ends padding should only prevent the seat from coming apart. Did anyone ever had any issue with this?
I contacted local dealer and they called Yamaha... long story short, it's a wear item and will cost $280 for replacement cover plus 1.5 hours labor.
I am pretty upset that the Yamaha Canada would not cover this under warranty. Thinking about calling them myself (maybe dealer wants my $$$), email to Yamaha support did not get reply in over a week.
    Any suggestions?

I have a 2012 VXR that did the same thing at about 50-60 hrs. It is my sons ski and at the time he weight about 80-90lbs. The ski was just out of warranty when It happened so I didn't pursue it with Yamaha. I ordered a Black Tip cover and had a upholstery shop install. Total cost was around $150 if i remember correctly.

Contacted Yamaha, although they maintained they do not cover wear and tear, they asked dealer to bring the seat over to their offices for review and my local dealer contacted me and is willing to do it. I hope they (Yamaha) own up to this one... I've never seen this on any toys I own, including my almost 30 years old Thundercraft.

Good news... Yamaha is replacing the cover on the seat under warranty. My local dealer has been great and supportive. I should have a repaired seat very soon. My confidence in Yamaha has been restored.

I hope I will not have to go through this again. Wonder if there are any third party covers that can be bought to place over the seat?

My fx sho seat is all torn up. I just ordered a blacktop seat cover with a custom color scheme to repair it from watercraftsuperstore
