Is there a way to test the voltage reg to see if it's bad?

start the ski,put a ohm meters leads on each battery post while its running and see if the voltage is above 13 volts going in to the battery

Test a voltage regulator for 2008 RXT 215

Candoo is giving me low voltage fault, I'm only reading 11.2 vdc with a meter at the battery. Thought mine was bad. A buddy gave me one and at the end of the day it ran the battery down from riding. Got one off the forum and still not changing.
I measured the three yellow wires and it reading 12.5vac Usually the it puts out 14.1 when I going fast. I have a gps map installed that shows battery voltage when I ride. Any ideas?

Check the fuse and it's terminals for corrosion as well

Sounds like your stator is bad.... you want 50 Vac at 4000 RPMs..If your only showing 12-14 Vac it sounds like the stator OR harness is messed up....Do a Stator continuity test also....Here is a link to the 2008 shop manual...Go to page 97 and it will show you the correct procedure on how to do all the tests..

    Check the 30amp charging fuse.
Had one that was NOT blown. But had some resistance and it caused that

Oh yea?! My fuses to it was not blown but did have a lot of build up on them! Crazy because it work one day but the very next day it didn't. I do NOT want to pull the engine

check for solid 12+ volts on the 2 fuses in small electric box , if not check the 2 small red wires that are sealed into big positive battery cable, they corrode and get bad into the big red insulation sleeve and is not visible from the outside, I eliminate that problem by cutting these 2 wires and install 2 1/4 ring terminals and bolt onto starter relay terminal
