4 tec 1500 oil filter Vs New 1600 new oil filter

For those who haven't seen the the new 300 oil filter ..

it has a stainless mesh on the out side making more rigid and less prone to colapse when intercooler fails etc ..

nice upgrade to use on the older 1500

I'm sure it's still prone to collapsing, but the mesh does look to keep the pleats more uniformly separated aiding in increased filtering?
intersting Rotax never fitted a bypass valve in the circuit, although one is shown in an old video clip.
slasher when did you start changing out the oil and filter that won't make it go any faster!

Im glad i saw this post a few weeks ago... the other day...i stopped at a dealer i passed while on the road .( not my normal dealer). I asked Einstien behind the counter for a oil filter for a rxt 300. 1st red flag was when he asked what year....he proceeded to hand me one that looked exactly like the one from my old 260.. I said i thought the new ones were more of a screen type mesh..he said the microfiche said that is the correct one...he asked again what year my ski was...i asked if they actually sell seadoos here and told him that the 300 just came out for 2016 and the 2017s arent out yet and to stop asking me what year my ski was...after 5 mins he found the proper filter for me...needless to say i wont be going back there ever again
