    310r engine pulled

    Own a 2014 310r with 32 hours on it. Had the ECU replaced with 2015 ECU after initial ride/low RPM issue.

    Engine started running bad- lucky for me, I was close to ramp. Took it in to Dealer and they found some fresh oil near top of exhaust (behind engine). Kawasaki told them to pull the engine to inspect. Dealer said he had heard something from Kawi earlier this summer that there is a known issue with rings not setting on some of these engines. Should know more tomorrow.

    Anyone had issues like this?

    What will the warranty (I have extended Kawi Protection Plan) do? Any chance of getting a new ski? or will they do engine work/rebuild?

    Yep, there have been some issues with the 2014's, as Mike has said though we can't diagnose through the net. Kawi will look after you, rebuild it and you'll be good to go!

    Yes- found out today I'm getting a new top end. Piston ring failure- something along those lines. Warranty covering it. Thanks for the feedback.
