    Info center got wet

I have a 2003 gp1300, the button on my malfunction center broke and it got wet now either nothing works and it shows nothing or it just has a steasy beep. I was wondering if I could use a xlt800 or a gp1200 center since they're cheater and harder to find. I was also thinking of fabricating my own with just a speedometer and gas guage. Any suggestions or info would be great.

You may try taking the two screws out of the back and popping the rubber grommet out. Hit it with a hair dryer for a few minutes, then place it into a food dehydrator for several hours. I've had success pulling visible moisture out of a gauge before power was applied. If it didn't burn anything up when power was applied wet it may return to usable.

Are all the functions available on the XLT gauge when used on a gpr? If they are, I'd consider it an upgrade!

Yes, all functions work: oil, gas, temp, tach, and lock/start code.
I think the same, upgrade in terms of function - just not as sexy looking but still looks good. Was plug and play for me w a reset of lock code while I installing. Works great, I kinda like the oil level since I'm not premix.
