High rpm SC backing off help

    2012 rxt is 260
    Riva water box
    IMUK
    Riva intake
    Riva back exhaust
    Fizzle ic
    Riva fpr
    Solas 14/19
I have stage 2 tune 8350 out of the hole everything good problem is up top when rpm is 8600 when I'm up there before limiter kicks in I hear the SC back of for a split sec then kicks back up and continues to do this every 2 to 5 secs once limiter kicks in its fine I think or from what I can hear and feel

I had about 3 bars gas, new plugs, oil 3hours on that
And half way on stuck, I'm hitting about 75 when Sc lets off

So your tune is 8350 but you're running it to 8600? Am I reading that right? This is very very bad if true.

If you're riding your limiter that hard your fuel might be getting cut off.

There's nothing in the charger to back in and out, it's locked in with the engine RPM.

Yes I have Riva stage 2 but it seems as if the 8350 limiter they have doesn't kick in for at least 2 mins or a little less but yes I rev up to 8600 for that time and then it slowly backs down to 8360 to be exact.

But you say it could have just been fuel being to low or fuel cutting out? What do you mean by this

You need some prop work done (or a new one).... your running way past your rev limiter!

What do you suggest... Riva suggested the 14/19 for stage 2

Considering it sounds like your right at 300 rpm to high.... I'd start with a 15/20 and pitch from there if needed for a target rpm of 8250-8300

Also stop running it over what the limiter is before you blow the head gasket. It won't take long if your running on the limiter like that

Why would it blow gasket I mean stage 3 not requires injectors and valve upgrade why would head gasket blow if I'm on 8600 when Rivas stage 3 is 8600 or so

And I believe there was also 'something' with stock retainers, stock valve train, stock injectors, stock DC .................
    Running that high RPM
Good advice for the OP, read some more on this awesome forum. I learned a lot, really .

I would be very careful, it's easy to spin it up fast, but takes a little longer to rebuild your motor!
As said re-pitch your prop to get rpm down!

With a rev limit set at 8350 the ecu begins to pull fuel and timing when you get much over that limit in attempts to slow down the engines rpm's. It doesn't take long to blow a head gasket when your running on the limiter... much less 250 rpm above it!
