New Spark Owner .. Old Member

It's been a hot minute since I have done some posting here.
Never owned a SD before or rode 1 for more than 10 minutes.
Picked up a 2014 (no option) Spark 60hp w/22 hours.

Cool thing for me it was 1500 feet away from my house, I am used to driving hundred's of miles just for an empty hull..
I LOVE THIS PLATFORM. Every ski needs to switch to this split hull style.

It was fun, quite(almost electric), DRY- So Dry ,comfortable,slow..
Tuned it yesterday Damm Fun now.
    Free-Flow exh today,, Better.
    More Parts to come.
I will finally be 1 of those (every part stage 3 ) guys.
    I have a lot to learn about SD stuff- Driveshaft clips/bellows ? , Plastic Liners,Alignments tools ..
    Later Guys

    Congrats.
I love the split hull also this weekend was the first time I split the hull to do the ribbon delete.
So much simpler than working on my XP.

What top speed are you at now?

Out of interest, is there a knack to ensuring you make a good seal between the two sections of hull when you put it back together?

Just clean the seals and are in place once I have the top in place
I put the middle bolts in first then work to both ends like doing up a head
As long as the bolts and screws go in straight and don't over tighten strews strip you will be OK

The four stroke is going to be way better than the old 2 stroke more riding less fixing
    Enjoy

Congrats on the purchase. I too have owned quite a few machines and my 16 Spark, dollar for dollar may be the best to date. I have not done any mods yet but am tempted by a tune however fuel options for me are limited. may just stick with the stock 90 for a while.

Well this makes the second GH member that I know of who has a spark and that came over from Polaris (me being the first). Did you get tired of wrenching on those god forsaken Fuji engines? I couldn't tolerate working on a turd anymore...But don't let the Polaris guys hear that. Blowing your ski up is supposed to be part of the experience lol

I'm in that same boat, coming from Polaris. I got sick of wrenching on the freakin' Virage I. Parted it out, put the money towards a new Spark and am not looking back!

Throttleout, I swear the Polaris 2-stroke is the biggest nightmare. For every hour of riding it was 2-3 hours of wrenching.....I just don't see the fun in that.

I tend to agree. My old SLT750 ran like a champ till the motor went (due to previous owner apparently sinking the thing) after that it was issues. The Virage I had was just one thing after another. Fix the EMM, then the LR module goes, fix that and then the EMM failed again. I'd about had enough of that. My SLH has *knocks on wood* been pretty good but the MFD just kicked the bucket too. Soon enough there will be a second spark in my hoist or possibly a GTI or RXP.
