Does the display show engine RPM while cranking? Lanyard inserted?

    What is 'switch bypass'?

Make sure the four pin diagnostic loop through connector is plugged tight and the white/red wire and pins is not damaged.

Lanyard in place, all connectors plugged in. No RPM display on MFI. If the MFI does not even 'wake up' by itself when engine is cranked then the EMM becomes the prime suspect.

After confirming all engine sensors are within spec for ohms.

While the MFI display is awake, press the Display button once to show digital RPM reading across the bottom of the screen. Then crank the engine with lanyard in place, should show a couple hundred RPM while cranking (strong battery, of course).
