Missing speed!! pump problems?? wear ring clearance?

12 px 260 riva stage 4 setup and motec tuned by Nils (Motec best decision and Nils is on point!!) Trying to find missing speed. Tune is on point as well as boost and slip. Solas 15/19r maxed out at 7950 rpm and 65.7 mph. put in stock prop and hit the limiter set at 8450 but speed is still only 65.9 seadoo gps. When it was all stock dash read about 70 around 8000rpm wot. I've also installed ss wear ring, riva grate, and R&D carbon seal. Spinning 8400 with stock prop I should be going over 70??? Could it be clearance between prop and wear ring? I will be sending out solas prop with the pump for depitch and clearance adjustment. Looking for input and reassurance from experience before my prop gets to go on a trip to Cali without me lol.

Might be a boost leak somewhere, with 15/19 that 8450 limiter should not be enough. I'm spinning a 15/20 -2mm at 8700+ with only et137+4.

Try new spark plugs since they are so cheap.

boost is on point 201 kpa at 8400 rpm.. I can raise the limiter and spin higher but something else is going on in the pump. Same prop same rpm but different speed. Can prop clearance with the ss wear ring cause such a difference

You may be right about boost leak. What's a good way to check. I've heard of some method with starter fluid but sounds like it might damage couplings

When I tested mine I used the stock rubber hose that attaches to the charger inlet. Bought a $1 plug for the other end at HD and attached a compressor fitting to it. Pumped it up to about 15 psi and had two tbolt clamps leaking, really had to put some force on those to seal them up.

Also had to seal where the crankcase vent attached.

Sounds like a good way to pressurize the system.. Is it easy to find leaks. would a pressure tester work or does the system lose pressure?

Have you done a compression check?

Have not done a compression check but heard from Nils who looked at the two logs and said boost has not increased enough with the increased rpm's. So I need to check for boost leak and slip.

Found boost leaks and fixed but only gained about 200 rpm. I've changed back to solas 15/19r after testing with stock prop and I'm hitting 70mph at 8050 rpm. I'm still low I thought I had this. I'm going to recheck boost leaks and slip. Not sure how air tight things should be. I noticed pressure didn't hold up too long but any hissing noise and bubbles were gone.
