gonna bring up an old thread here, my bad. I'm sort of in the same boat here. got an 03 ultra 150 and i'm starting to bolt the motor back together. got the SBT engine rebuild gasket kit and it has 4 crank oil seals in it. the front seal is easy enough since its the only one that fits in the spot. however the rear seals are quite confusing since i took no photos in the disassembly process. I attached some pictures here. one is of the two seals on the crank as I believe they should be. the others are of the seal i believe is the extra one. am I even close here guys? Thanks in advance for any help guys! can't wait to get this thing on the water and beat all my buddies lol

The seal you have in the middle position in the 1st pic is for a 1999 model year. The cases are different on the 99 where the groove in the case will line up with that seal. The middle seal for the later years should have the lip offset like the rear seal and face in the same direction.

So the outer seal in the first pic is the correct seal for that position and facing the correct direction? And the seal in the last 3 pics should be the 2000 and up inner seal? Then both seals face the same direction right? One last quest, the o-ring gets covered up by the bushing and the taper on the bushing faces the front of the engine right?

Bushing taper faces toward crank like you said. Put the seal you originally had in middle to the side, you dont need it. The seal in the front position is smaller I think so no question where that goes. As for the middle and the rear, ARE THE INSIDE DIMENSIONS DIFFERENT ON THOSE 2 ? I cant remember, that would tell you for sure. I dont think you can mistake the direction for the middle one it only fits one way.
