    RXP-X 260 RS vs RXP-X 300 RS

    Hi guys,

I have just purchased a RXP-X300RS. wicked ski!! its a blast! my buddy has a 2014 RXP-X 260 RS both machines are stock.

My question is what would the speed difference from a roll and a dig be between the two? given they are both stock!

egar to line it up with him but still running the machine in! just hit 5 hours the other day.

The 300 will get the 260 by about 4-5 machine lengths. The 260 taps out at 113-114 kmh and then the 300 walks away because its still gaining speed. My Buddy has seen 77-78mph steady on his 300. I added a SCOM and gained about 1-1.5 machine lengths back and he doesnt walk away as bad.
I can get out of the hole with him but by about 25mph he starts pulling away.
My speedo would just hit 114kmh, then hit the limiter and fall off to 111-112kmh.
Now with the SCOM it hits 116kmh and stays there.

Really?? So is the 300 that much quicker than a 260? I thought stock for stock both machines would be similar speeds..he thinks he has a chance of keeping up with me! Haha

He will be closer to you by mayve 1-2 machine lengths with only 5 hours on your 300. I believe after 10 his 300 woke up alot.
It's a bigger displacement engine, bigger Turbo, and 40 more HP...tell him that and ask How can it be close?
He will get better fuel mileage than you though. I burn a tank in 3, 4 hrs max. The 300 is 2-3 hrs. This is driving agressive about 50% of the time and cruising the rest. The more aggressive you ride , that 300 will use more fuel quicker than the 260.

    260 is 240 hp. 300 is 295hp. so 55hp diff.

Yesterday after pulling some friends wake boarding we turned back to the marina and I accelerated to full speed on an almost perfectly flat lake, topping out at around 120 km/h (indicated) with 3 adult males totalling around 460 lbs. I held the throttle pinned for around 60 seconds or so. That was the first time doing a high speed run with the new ski @ 21 hours. I have to say, I don't see what the big deal is. I enjoy the improved mid range pull of my 300 vs my 260, but both get to the same top speed very quickly. I just wanted a new ski to replace my 6 year old 260 and decided to get the higher HP version. For me, getting to top speed 3 boat lengths sooner is no big deal and not noticeable in everyday riding on the water. The midrange pull is impressive on the 300 though and noticeable. But this is a performance forum, so I guess racing is a big thing.

Truthfully, the greatest improvement in my new ski is the addition of a ski module which makes towing wake boarders and skiiers push button.

    Enjoy the racing though.
