    !engine help!

alright so my 2004 Polaris freedom wasn't running right, was told that it could be either something on bottom end, or to take the heads off to see what shape the piston(s) are in. so I took the heads off and saw a decent amount of corrosion, I'm pretty sure it's typical. but how do I take the second part off to get to the Pistons? I will throw pics in.Click image for larger version.

6 bolts with the star bits is where I'd start.

I'd just check the compression. You don't have to take anything apart. If there is something awry, it'll show up on a compression test.
