    intercooler water routing

From reading on this forum, i am confused. Installing external intercooler, as right now I have an internal one 2010 model.

Option 1) water goes into inlet of intercooler, and outlet goes into exhaust manifold.

Option 2) install "T" and split the incoming water between the intercooler inlet and exhaust manifold. From my understanding this is to lower the water pressure coming into the intercooler to save it from bursting. BUT where does the intercooler outlet connect to? Do I place anther "T" at the exhaust manifold?

    What is the best solution?

I use option 2 . I had a unused connection which I drilled out and connected the intercooler discharge. This method feeds the IC and Ex manifold seperate and keeps things a bit cooler , I'm not sure if you have a extra connection by you pump ,of you do not you can add a thru hull fitting to discharge the IC. Here's a rough sketchClick image for larger version.

the only bad thing about running all your cooling water thru the IC
is if it gets clogged/plugged up with junk (sand and other stuff )
    you can overheat your exhaust
same problem when people filter all the water
that is why oem uses the T

If I do not have the extra connection at the back of the boat. Can i use the water from intercooler out in another T near the exhaust manifold?
