When do I need to start data logging?

I'm trying to hold off till maptuner x is logging capable , I'm installing a et137 and vtech id1000 9000 tune and 1000cc injectors. Should I wait to get a logger before I upgrade?

You are in the ballpark of needed logging I would say. It all depends on the quality of fuel you are using also.

If you had a friend with a logger that you could borrow I would just check it out to be safe. Or you can go old school and read the plugs. Start with a fresh set and make a pass and check them. Forum member Brandon is very good with this . Give him a shout . He vtech tuned a turbo Px by reading plugs .

That's good ! You just have to be careful with detonation which is what can kill the engine . I'm not sure how the vtech logger recognizes detonation . But someone else can chime in on that . You can see detonation when you check the plugs after a pass.
