RXP 300 with 13 hours seeing only 7400 RPM

Granted the last two hours were in rough water where I couldn't get a sense of a true max RPM, but on smooth and fairly moderate outside temperature I was only seeing mid 7000 RPM at best. I've heard other getting at least 500 more. Should I take this to the dealer for their attention? I have the SCOM, but haven't installed it yet. Would that correct any loss RPM and open it up to more and maybe I should not bother with the dealer? Thoughts?

Get the ski running right stock before you mod it.

So the lower RPM is a problem? What are others seeing? Have others experienced this same issue?

I keep trying to tell Joe that the Normal Non-Learning Key the settings don't apply to this key! If they did you would only get to 50's speed range. If the ECU sees this as a "Normal" Key...it's pointless. You will have full power. If you see 7400 only...check for loose clamps , damaged prop , maybe bad plug etc.

Scom will simply remove the GPS restriction ....so RPM would be irregardless if you are not getting 8080 or close from the hole shot....through mid range ...something is wrong. You also have high altitude , temps , oil levels also that could be a factor.

Hmm, Joe was right actually. I just broke out the manual, inserted the normal key, cycled through to key mode, hit set, hit set again to get to normal key and it was set to 3. Changed it to 5 and going to take it to the lake. If that was the issue I'm an idiot. I'm an idiot anyways but I hope to be a happy dummy in a few hours!

Nope.....your speeds will be the same....unless you are using the learning key. I've seen people mess up and and put the Yellow key's as "Learner" ....where as the Green they put as the "Normal Keys". When reading the keys you are programming what the Green Key will have power to. Default they are set for 3. When you put the key in does it say "Normal" on the dash?

The KEY MODE function is used for
    changing LEARNING key settings. Refer
    to OPERATING MODES subsection
    for details.

Straight from the manual . You have to have the Normal Key in to be able to program the levels 1-5 as you are setting what the "learning" key will have.

    Learning KeyModes
The learning l key provides a mode of
    operation whereby engine power and
    speed is limited.

There are 5 speed settings available for
the learning key mode. By default, the
keymode is preset to no 3.

NOTE: Changing key settings is only
available when the engine is not running.
    Changing Learning Key Speed
    Settings
To change learning key setting, carry
    out the following:

    1. Press the START/STOP button to
wake up the electrical system and
install the NORMAL key on the engine
    cut-off switch.
    2. Wait for the information center to
    complete its self-test and display
    the key recognitionmessage.

What is your speed, are you hitting 70mph on the dash? If so your just being speed limited and the scom will fix that. I hit 70mpht just under 7400 on my RXTX300 but the px300 seemed like I remember it being closer to 7600.
