I just got off the water to test the Riva/V-Tech "bone stock" tune, which is the tune for skis with no modifications and it ran a solid 76-77 mph

I will soon be testing the Riva/V-Tech "Stage 1" tune with the associated stage 1 parts shown in the attached image.

I used this Riva/V-Tech MaptunerX tuning bundle package to reflash my ECU. It was extremely easy to do and only took a few minutes. These bundle packages are currently on sale in the forums online store. Link to order is here: http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...oducts_id=4250

This test was done with a FULL tank of fuel and a 255 pound rider
Temps here right now are 79 degrees F

After running 77+ mph witha bone stock ski with the "bone stock" Riva/V-Tech tune on my 2016 FZ, i decided to put the Stage 1 parts on the ski and upload the Riva/V-Tech Stage 1 tune with my MaptunerX unit and am extremely pleased with the results.

80.4 mph came very easy at only 8220 RPM. I depitched the Solas 13/20 that comes with the kit to a 13/18 being I ride in a very hot climate. The acceleration is brutal!!!
Air temps for this test were 89 degrees F and fuel was 3/4 tank.
I'm a 255 pound rider

As you can see in the GPS pic there is only 4.9 hours on this ski.

This test was with the STOCK ride plate and trim one click up from Neutral. Adding the Jim's ride plate would have yielded another 2 mph. I will test that this weekend

Here's some pics of the parts I installed. Take note that I also installed the R&D dual friction washer between the pump and impeller. This makes removing the impeller in the future a breeze. I highly recommend this for all skis!

Have a look at how restrictive the intake manifold flame arrestor is (ribbon)
Doing the intake manifold upgrade is a must do for any ski.

and the BIG news.... I then put the Jim's Modified SVHO plate on my ski and gained a solid 2.2 mph.

82.6 mph with only stage 1 parts and tune and a Jim's plate. Incredible!!

Guys, these Jim's modified ride plates are absolutely incredible. Just bolting on this ride plate with no other modifications yielded 2.2 mph gain on my ski

These GRF catch cans have been a huge hit with the Sea Doo crowd so I had GRF make some for the 2012+ Yamaha skis.

I just installed and tested mine. Look, fit and finish are perfect. Running a catch can on a supercharged ski is always a great idea as it prevents the engine from re breathing oily crankcase vapors. As you are aware, the crankcase breather hose is plumbed back to the stock air intake. Those oily vapors can and will coat your intercooler over time making it less efficient. Also, your engine re breathing crankcase fumes lowers the knock rating of your fuel.

but the catch can takes things to a new level of "nice".
It's a very nice piece to have and you can drain it easily from the pet cock to check tabs on the health of your engine to make sure you aren't pushing an abundance of oil through the crank vent.

Okay just got back and tested my R&D grate right out the pack.
I first made several runs with the stock grate and pulled of consistent 83.3 mph runs.

I immedately swapped out the R&D grate and made consistent passes of 83.9 mph. Tried like hell, but could not get over the hump to 84 mph.

All in all, I'm pleased with .6 mph gain. The best part about it is I had a slight bounce with the stock grate. With the R&D grate the ski smoothed out completely.

I finally got 25 hours on my ski and must say it's been a lot of fun and it's performed flawlessly with the Riva/V-tech Stage 2 tune and Stage 2 kit parts. Looking forward to enjoying many more trouble free hours. Maybe upgrade to stage 3 soon?

I'm using the Amsoil 10W40 Marine oil in this ski just as I have on all my others. This oil has been fantastic! This is the oil I use

I just make this thread to show the improvements I made to my ski since I purchased it. The ski currently has the Riva/V-Tech stage 2 tune and parts on it and runs 84 mph in this brutal south Louisiana heat.

Thinking about upgrading to stage 3 soon and taking this thing to the next level
