rxp help from down under
first let me say how informative and interesting this site is,i discovered it the other day and already i learned a lot
i ride a 2004 rxp,it has 80 hours, the prob is i put a solace impeller on it and i`m only getting 7650 to 7750 rpm`s.i`v also got worx grate and sponsons, but i don`t think that they should effect the revs.
what can i do to bring those revs back up there
should i put in a pump wedge
or repitch my impeller,or both
another thing,i want more speed(surprise surprise)there`s a couple of worked gpr`s that are kicking my ass at the moment(friendly rivalry, yeah right
)
what should my next mods be
sorry for all the`s but down here there`s only one sd dealer where i`m from(and he`s not that crash hot)
keep up the good work guys, any help appreciated
thanks joe

Welcome to the forum!
You didn't mention which impeller you put on, but im assuming its the Solas 14/19? If your RPMs were higher and they dropped right after installing the new Solas then i have to assume your ski is running right with no supercharger issues and its just that your Solas needs some pitch taken out of the trailing edge. Once you get your RPM's up you will also notice better acceleration and more top speed.

Top Banana is right on. Start by taking 1 mm out of the trailing edge.
You should also ditch the WORX grate and go with a Riva grate.
Next mods should be a cold air intake and a Vortech SC impeller.

thanks guys
i was thinking of putting in a pump wedge as well,so will it still be 1mm with or without the wedge?
i already have the riva cold air intake jerry,
so what sort of gain will i be looking at with the vortech sc impeller?
how is the riva grate better then the worx one?
again sorry for all the ?`s,but i want to get this thing right
thanks again guys,joe

Wedge or no wedge Start with 1mm.ive got two wedges on mine at the moment but i like to jump out the water and get height of the waves. sc impeller will make it quicker getting there. may inprove top end

The Vortech impeller will give you lots more acceleration and should add a little bit more speed on top.
I used to use a Worx grate. I switched to a Riva grate and gained considerable speed.

R&D scrubs too much speed. You should try a Riva grate. On my setup i switched back to a stock grate and lost 3.7 mph
The reason behind this is that the pump gets overstuffed at high speed. The bars on the Riva grate are thicker than the stock grate thus letting less water in, not over stuffing the pump.
Im going to be experimenting with making the bars on the Riva grate even thicker

Sounds like it broke a piston skirt or a rod. Eitherway, not good. You say...
