    This is no help to you but just a comment.

    I’ve read posts similar to this before and I find it totally amazing that these engines can run at those high RPM’s with the throttle plates closed and no extra air getting in.

    There are rather large air flow holes in the Ficht throttle body plates.

    Unlike a carburetor engine, the Ficht engine idles with a lot of air flowing into the combustion chamber. The actual combustion occurs in a small portion of the air, right in the (very tightly controlled) fuel spray plume from the Ficht injector in the middle of the chamber. This is what Ficht calls heterogeneous burn mode. The rest of the air is not used for combustion. What might be called ‘super lean’ in a carb engine is normal on Ficht.

    Without a water load on the jet pump it does not take much engine power (and therefore not that much air flow) to rev high.
