On the newer 4tecs without a lubrication port on the throttle body, some crankcase vapors are needed to keep the throttle body from seizing up and corroding. This is what I was told on my RXPX when my TB seized and needed warranty replacement. Obviously their isnt enough oil getting to the TB. Id prefer if seadoo left the lube hose on the engine cover to keep the TB working properly. They are huge $$ to replace.

That guy is just spewing nonsense all over the place. There's ups and downs to removing the crankcase vent from the intake hose. I noticed a power increase after cleaning the oil out of my intake system. But then the supercharger and intercooler started corroding

Why not periodically just remove the intake boot to the throttle body and apply a spray on lube to keep it slightly lubed after riding ? ^

Is the corroding a salt water riding only issue?

No way I'd want to lube the throttle body frequently, with hard intercooler piping I think I'd have to unstrap the cooler to get to it, major pain.

Yes PT ....salt air being sucked in.....it's better to not have a catch can IMO personally .... Fresh water guys...no drama as we don't have that to deal with.

On my stock RXPX its a pain to get at the clamp for the intake hose on the throttle body. I do spray some xps lube in the intake now while cranking the engine if its going to sit for a while. The The older 4tecs just made it easy with the tube clipped onto the plastic engine cover. Couple shots of XPS every ride or two.. easy and zero worries.

If your going to coat the entire intake system with spray to prevent corrosion, then what's the point of removing the crank case vent? The whole idea is to keep oil out of the intake system. You're either going to have oil in your intake or corroded parts. And yes I'm taking about salt water riding

    It keeps the cooler clean
It's not drowning the TB in oil
It's a simple positioned dab of lube periodically
