Sea doo spark closed course Racing
Hi guys, i race in a 1000cc open class in Argentina, i have a x4 xp 96, with a lots of mods, running 62 mph in the best days, not the fastest buts turns a lot better than any ski on the course, i race against a few xpl and some gsx, all with 951 engines and i have 787 engine, all skis are with some handling mods but the doesnt have the most powerfull engines, lets said almost stock, here in argentina its very expensive and we dont have access to all the parts, and in my case the 787 parts are discontinued so im always buyin used parts on the Forums. Well here is the deal, i was talking with my team partners if it would be a good idea to change my ski and race with a Spark, i cant use turbo chargers, or superchargers, just NA engine, im planing to make a full race ski, with everything i could find, and i was thinking in open the engine, doing a port and polish, maybe rise a little de compression ratio, i could use a race fuel also, but i don t know if the spark hull with handling mods will keep up with those skis. I know theres a lot of people here with knowledge and experience on the spark, so guys what do you think? worth the try? or ill be the last crossing the line on every Race? im thinking on the spark cause is a new ski, and has a lot more reliability than my 2 stroke that gaves me headaches every time. It will be great of you give me yours opinions on this
thanks

The gsx is better in my opinion. Keep in mind this is a bone stock spark. I assume with a tune, impeller, and sponsons it will get better.. I do plan on racing my spark.. Probably not stock

I race XPLs, a stock class and a limited class. I also race my spark if anyone else shows up with one which isn't very often. My spark has every bolt on part and it is not in the same league as the XPL. Its very fun to ride but you would be bringing a knife to a gun fight. Those boats will have a speed and handling advantage. I understand your parts problem, I have friends in Brazil.
