    1200pv engine vs. 1300r engine pros cons

    I have a 99 xl1200 limited 66v engine and it's done for. Do I keep the 1200pv engine or swap to a 1300 engine? Would like to hear for your guys the pros and cons and which would be a better engine to have in it.

    You could repower with the 1300 engine and keep the carbs , more power . Not sure how cost effective it will be .

    I am wondering what I will need to swap my 1200pv to a 1300pv. Is the bottom the same? Will I need a different ebox? Any help would be great.

    All you need is cylinders, pistons, and power valves pretty much.

    Is switching to a 1300pv a decent improvement? I'm wondering what the pros of the switch is.

    1300 engine would be more power

    you can use the same exhaust, same power valve servo, same CDI/stator cover and use the carbs. Just need to rejet and repitch your impeller

    crank and cases are the same
