    Hydroturf seat cover

so I ordered a hydroturf seat cover from the US the other week and it arrived today. it looks AMAZING.

however, I thought it was a slip on seat cover (like a lambs wool cover for a motorcycle seat) - not a replacement for the existing vinyl.
I've organised an appointment with an upholsterer friend of my dad who is going to sort it out for us next week.
my question to everyone here is this:
did you take off the old vinyl and put the hydroturf over the seat, or did you just put the new cover over the existing vinyl?

Leave the stock vinyl in place and simply have the HT cover installed over top of it. The stock vinyl will keep protecting the foam pad better.

Just a tip - might want them to use stainless staples to prevent corrosion (especially if you are in salt water).

Exactly this, I know we spoke before about this but call JSW and see exactly what they do.

I am 99% sure they just went over the top of the vinyl on mine but worth checking.

they're a proper upholsterer so I'll mention it to them & make sure they're stainless.

Sorry I wasn't suggesting you did but I know they sell and fit them so definitely worth seeing if they will say how they do it.

I did mine at my house. SS staples and a buddy and it is an easy project to do. I left the vinyl seat cover on there and put it over it, it worls great and I love the seat cover over the stock.

Cheers guys, my dad's mate it doing it this week for $20 and as he's a professional upholsterer (he did my dad's boat) I know it will come out better than my uncoordinated hands can do it lol.

will post pics once it's done.
