Well just buying a new ski isn't always the best solution. Especially when u put thousands of dollars in the one you have.

you forgot to mention another solution.........buy a 2106
Yeah I bet the 2106's are beasts. However we won't be riding one.

    "Yamaha board meeting"
Engineer #1- Hey guys, we have had a lot of chains breaking on the ski's!"
Engineer #2- Maybe we should investigate the issue
Finance #1- How much will that cost us?
Engineer #2- A lot, and all the service costs to implement the fix
Finance #1- Oh, no that's not good, we sold a lot of ski's expensive to fix!
Engineer #2, we have a fix and its in all the 2016's (we think)
Marketing- #1- Do nothing then, they will all buy 2016's and our sales will look fantastic!
    Finance #1- Great, done!
Engineer #1 & #2- shakes head in disbelief, mumbles and walks out!

    Sad but possibly true,

engineer #1 its 2016 the chains are still breaking
engineer #2 maybe we should do something to fix it!
Finance#1 we did not sell enough skis. I guess people were holding out to see if there was still an issue with the chain and there is!
Marketing #1 maybe we should do what seadoo did. Dress up the same motor with new plastic parts and called it the new svhoho and lower the unit price
finance#1 isnt that gonna cost us more money?
Marketing#1 no , we build it in mexico and throw in some new baby boomer colors!
Finance#1 why didnt i think of that?
    Marketing#1 daahh....

So true, so true, sometimes companies forget the reason they exist is customers bought their product. OOOH the share holders the share holders, well they won't get much if the company screws the consumer over and over. (I'm not just referring to Yamaha, just companies in general)

Which camshaft was bad? Both? Does the camshaft have casting or stamped numbers on them? Maybe it can be narrowed down to certain sticks that are warping?
