Removed SC, took some pics...
I just finished removing the SC, getting ready to send it out for the RR shaft kit and V imp... I followed the directions from the board, and presto chango it was out!
Hey Jerry, while the SC was still in the engine, I stuck my fingers in there and tried to turn the SC, I could rotate it a little, about 1/2 turn before I couldn`t turn it anymore, once removed, wrapped towel around gear and tried to turn impeller, no deal...PR...Last edited by Pale Rider; 02-25-2007 at 12:06 PM.

Andy, you were actually turning your engine over by spinning the impeller. Due to the gear reduction it makes it easy. Lots of people do this and mistakenly think their sc is slipping.

You can tell that SC has not seen saltwater.

The one good thing where we ride is that I launch in brackish waters, ride the river 15 miles to the bay, fool around near the inlet or AC or LBI and come back through the brackish water (river) to the ramp and out. Every trip I wash the hull/trailer and flush/dry and put back indoors...PR...

I'll have to go get my SC and take some pics. Saltwater is taking a toll on the finish of everything in the hull. Thats why next week everything is going off to the body shop to be stripped sandblasted and repainted. I'll end up doing the sandblasting becuase i don't trust the shop around the SC with the sandblaster.

100 hours of salt water use... just gotta rinse and lube EVEERYTHING... when i say everything, i mean everywhere. hell, half the time the gelcote gets lubed down. u wont find a spec of corrosion or salt or rust on my ski anywhere after 100 hours in 100% salt water
i have a shelf dedicated to WD-40 and bomb lube.. i lift things up and squirt it inbetween, underneath, on top, every little crevice gets a shower of lube..... well worth the maintenance in the end. u'd think my ski had 2 hours on it

And here's pics of my SC with just under 200 hours of use with the same treatment. Mind you surf riding constanly exposes your engine bay to ocean water and i can only do so much to prevent it. Now i'm taking protection to the next level with new paint.
