    Put deposit down on 300HP 2016 RXP-X

    Though I have only 9 hours on my 2015 RXP-X, I have decided to pick up a 2016 RXP-X with 300HP. My plan was to install something equivalent to a Stage III R&D kit but if I can start off with 300HP right off the cuff, I figure it won't as much to achieve 75'ish mph. I figure the difference in price between spending the money on the kit and losing money on my trade-in should be negligible. (my bodyshop does all their work and they always hook me up)

    Has anyone seen any pics yet? I only have pics of the 2016 RXT-T three seater.

    Guess we'll see....

    That looks okay but I really like my yellow '15.

    Having said that, doesn't it make sense if the exact same ski has an extra 40HP that they have to limit it somehow to keep the 65 mph top end? I wonder what minor mod it take to take advantage of the extra 40HP.

    I hear its the full power and just speed limited, so your not loosing the HP, your just being cut off of top RPM one the speedo reads the top. Take the speed sensor out of the water?

    I agree, no doubt it's not a HP loss but either some sort of limiter or something like a prop. With an extra 40HP in the same hull, it'll be something minor to bring up the speeds.

    The speed is read via GPS, the only way to bypass the speed limiter is with a flash or a standalone ECU

    The '15 yellow is unique that's for sure.

    I liked the Black/Red in '14 and went with that but the yellow is growing on me.

    The new Red/Black looks great as well but I still like the Black/Red from the 14' more but change keeps it interesting.

    I understand but I guess I didn't make my question clear. If the exact (for the most part) model is produced with an extra 40HP, will the top end increase automatically once you simply remove the speed limiter?

    I ask because the R&D kit adds roughly "X" amount of HP (among other items that help produce speed though not produce HP (ie. grate, impeller, etc, etc)) This "kit" adds roughly 3 lbs of boost and almost 10mph. If the new model produces an add'l 40 HP, I'm wondering what that would mean to the skis top end simply by removing the speed limiter.
