Blew up my GPR 800 today

Long story short. Check your air boxes before you ride. Appears there was a mud dauber nest in mine and all was good until I jumped a wake around 45 mph and it broke loose and sucked into cyl#1. Now that cylinder has 0 compression. Hoping and assuming it's nothing making me buy a new motor, and I will just rebuild.
Pics will follow as I do the rebuild.
if anyone wants to recommend and upgrades during this process. Feel free. Tips for the rebuild. Are also welcome.

OUCH! sorry to hear that. you figure a mud dauber's nest is nothing but a chunk of sand. i'm sure the sand went through your crank bearings and rod bearings too and ground everything down a little. at least it did not blow and throw a rod through your case. prob will need to rebuild crank as well as top end....

After realizing how correct Low Tides statement was, I am contemplating purchasing a motor to swap into my ski. This will happen depending on how fuged up my motor actually is. Any suggestions for something relatively low don't and not too difficult?

I have ProK filters on mine. Makes for a bit more room & I think the filters help keep 'splashed' water from being directly injected as I jump waves a lot. You can also add pre-filters (nylon covers)to these to really keep any splashed water from absorbing. You may have to richen up a tad as they supposedly flow about 10% better. They remove easily for fogging as well.

Looks like a salt water ski.R U sure about dirt daubber? After repairing, spray that sucker down with Fliud Film.Helps that corrosion problem as I learned.Lots of good help here.

Yes it IS a salt water ski. As I live in Florida. Last night as you can see I threw the motor on a table. Since I was curious to see, this am before I left for work I pulled the heads off and I'm prett sure it wasn't just the mud nest. I am including the pictures I took of the head, cylinder wall and piston. Clearly there was more than just dirt/clay/sand etc. After work tonight I will pull the power valves and the first jug and remove the carbs. Hopefully reveals my more clues and no more damage.
