"What PWC should i get?" Forum Section

Just wanted to suggest maybe it would help if there was a section for first time buyers or people looking to upgrade to a new pwc, or something along those lines, where they can individually post and talk about their different purchase factors and stuff like that.

I think it would help clean up the forum so there isnt people posting in all three brand sections or just one section trying to compare 2 brands where they're going to get bias answers. Also it would be good for people who are coming here for buying advice on a particular ski, so they could easily look in that section for topics on the same ski.

I just keep seeing so many different threads about buying and such and i know ive made my fair share, so i just think it would be nice to have a dedicated forum section for it.

I get where you're coming from. It can probably be a sub-forum under open discussion to eliminate repetitive threads in within the busy sub-forums for Yamaha, Kawasaki and Seadoo. I say its a good idea.

I'll see what we can come up with. Another option can be thread prefix's but they aren't as intuitive as a sub-forums.

The only concern would be the Kawi bashers turning it in to a giant pissing match in every thread.

The problem would be all the coolaid drinkers, who would come in saying their brand is ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY THE BEST SKI EVER MADE, and that it never fails. We all know, that ALL brands have issues.

Glad you guys like the idea. Hope you come up with something that works well Mike!

Also Mike, I would block CCW from posting in it.

To me the PWC brands (supercharged stock versions only) can be broken down into 3 categories that each are the strongest in.
I think if there was a "what PWC for me" sticky it should be something like the following as I do not see how people are so brand loyal/blind that they think 1 brand or model can do it all.

Once you go forced induction long term reliability with all brands is around the same.
The Yamaha series can be relied upon to be easy to make go very fast but some say the rough water ride is not the best with Yamaha hulls. Get this if speed is what you want.
Sea Doo has the most tech gadgets on a ski & can be modded to go reasonably fast. The XP is known to turn faster than other skis but riders say it can be unstable at times & not like rough water. The XT is larger & more stable & can take a bit of rough water. Get this if you want cutting edge tech with a dash of speed & face tearing turns
The Kawasaki does not mind rougher conditions but is not a high speed PWC on flatter water. With the deep V hull & extra weight it provides a more comfortable ride in rougher water. Get this if you like ocean riding or rough water riding.
Each brand has it's strengths & weakness's but how you ride & what you plan to do with it should be the key factor in what you buy. Not what the crowed is telling you to buy.
