I've tried both loctite and ultra black on several of mine with no success. So now I use JB marine weld and I haven't had one budge since.

When you use the JB Marine Weld, do you first remove the outer O-ring and use only Marine Weld, or did you use the supplied O-ring in conjunction with the Marine Weld? How similar is Marine Weld to over the counter JB Weld?

I just left the o-rings in. I think the regular JB is similar to the marine strength wise, but the marine claims to be more suited for underwater use so that's what i go with. I bet either will work.

On a related note, I keep burning the edges off my impellers. Every 20 hours they look like they are sand blasted on the edges from cavitation burn. Is it possible I'm sucking air from my thru hull seal? Also Any way to grease the thru hull fitting?

Mine does the same thing, I think its the poor design of the pump, do you also have a spot of erosion developing on the left side of the pump liner too, its right at 3 oclock if you are looking into the pump with the impeller removed.

It's a 2015 stx15f 45 hours, custom DIY intake. It burned the factory impeller after 20 hours in stock trim and the Solas 13/21. The water I ride is crystal clear and never sucked sediment or rocks. I do have one burn mark on the wear ring I'll have to look tonight where it's situated. I've been through the pump, plate and grate and siliconed everything.

Mine started cavitating around 40 hours real bad. Then I put a wedge on and it made it so much worse. I think these Kawi pumps are known to burn props out. Someone w more experience can chime in though..
