    SBT Stator WTF.

So I'm helping a friend with an 02 Virage TX with no spark I ohmed the stator and it was out of spec so I ordered a new SBT replacement it's installed and still no spark. So troubleshooting and I find power on the red/pur on the CDI with it disconnected WTF. Now chasing wires found the SBT Stator plug was pinned backwards hope it did not fry the CDI. Not happy. That seems like a straight up Quality Assurance issue from manufacture.

A functional test socket (test jig) at the end of the assembly line would reveal this sort of thing.

Was the mating SBT pigtail that goes into the electrical box also mis-wired?

The stator does not come with the mating ebox harness. As it stands now a wisp of smoke out of the CDI = not good.

Wow. If the SBT stator fried your CDI i hope they give you a new CDI too.

Cesar called me today and he is on the case and was nothing but apologetic about the mishap. The only issue he has is finding a CDI as SBT currently does not offer one for the late model Virage TX. But he is working on it. Thanks SBT for the after sale support and standing behind your product.

Perhaps this could result in adding a CDI variation to the SBT store that works with the High Start flywheel (if that is what the issue is).
