How Much Oil Can You Extract From Your VXR HO?

Hey Guys. Just did the 10 hr oil change on my '15 VXR. I pulled just over 3.5 qts out through the dipstick tube. This being my 1st ski, it didn't occur to me to tilt the trailer so more oil would collect at the dipstick end of the sump. Since the sump has a capacity of 5.5 qts, has anyone been able to get more than 5 qts out by tilting the trailer? I'm already buying oil for the next change, and want to know if I will need more than a 4 or 5 qt jug.

Found one report of getting 4 quarts. Waiting on answer to whether this was done just tilting forward, or jacking up port side as well.

User 2014fxho mentioned above confirmed that he tilted the trailer down on the tongue, raised port side and removed oil filter to "get almost 4 quarts" extracted from his Yamaha HO. I put ~2.5 hours on my ski yesterday, so it will be another 47.5 hours until I can report my results.

I did an oil change recently and got just shy of 4 quarts. That had oil showing on the dip stick at the 2/3 to full mark both before and after the change.

I get 3.7 ltr out with port side jacked up & front of trailer down......that's nearly 4 US quarts.

I change the oil every 33 hrs or so......that's 3 changes every 100 hrs rather then 2. I really believe this makes a difference to engine longevity...especially when you start getting into higher hours. Did this on my FX 160, over 300 hrs .....compression figures were same as new. Over 200hrs on my 1.8 HO & same story.

I would also recommend to torque the filter up........most put them on too tight......torque up & you will never struggle to remove it.

Just did my oil change on my 2011 VXR and i could barely get 3qts out of here, even after i put a 4qts in there, im gonna try jacking up the left side of the trailer this time, warm it up and try to get more out, hope i dont soak my air filter.

Do you guys warm the engines up before oil change?
Does anyone use the RIVA last drop extraction system? Is it easy to use?

I would also like to know if anyone has used the RIVA Last Drop extraction system. And is everyone just using a motorized Oil Extractor.
