    Gtx iS IBR stuck up

So...it's been a while now that once every 10 days the IBR light will come on...but a restart would clear it.
Since yesterday the IBR is stuck up and there is no Neutral or Reverse. Also the check engine sign lights up and the rpms are limited to 5400.
Did take out the battery poles, cleaned them...started ok but after 2 minutes it's the same story.
The battery is fine as it fires up like a charm every single time. Should I use some spray on the IBR connectors ?
Is there a chance I can get away of buying a new IBR motor?
Also could it be the harness has gone bad?

Ski has 180 hours ,all of them in the ocean.

    Do the easy stuff first:

Check the battery under load; if it passes load test, clean terminals, tighten screws. Check IBR function.

Battery is fully charged. In excellent condition. Terminal where cleaned , sprayed and it fires up better than new.
IBR connectors (2) where cleaned and sprayed...they were FULL of salt and water!!!
The third connector on the IBR motor (the vts) was not cleaned.
Drove for 15 minutes....everything went fine. Stopped at a beach bar....went on a second drive...IBR fault again and again!!!
Now I am at the 2nd beach bar drinking my cocktails..
I ll try and clean the vts connector as well tomorrow...
I guess either it's the vts connector or the moisture and salt got into the harness....by the way which harness is this one, ending at the IBR motor?

Just cleaned the vts connector on the IBR motor...still IBR fails!
So ...next choice is to try a new IBR motor ?

no, next step before you drop $1000 is to get a code reader like the candoopro and see exactly what error is causing the IBR to shut down.

you need to seriously look at the operation of the ibr in motion, watch for any jerking of the system.

spray the entire jetpump area down with silicon spray, anything in the tracks can cause the motor to draw too much juice, which will shut the ibr right down.

I've done a few already where the plastic arm connecting to the gate has broken, jamming the system.

guessing with Ibr gets really really expensive..and the labor isn't exactly pleasant either.

I ll take it to the dealer tomorrow and connect it to see what is happening...
I did spray wd40, silicon spray and wurth everywhere!!!!! Will constantly jam the IBR UP after 2-3 minutes of warming up.
However once at home and on the water hose it ll work just fine ...that is for the 30-40sec i rinse the ic with fresh water!
I ll try a like "new" IBR motor for free tomorrow as well...and I hope I can fix it soon...

swapping parts is not a good way to repair an ibs. It's quite a bit of tricky annoying labor.

DO NOT overtighten any bolts. The brass inserts spin and then the headache is very very big.

I suggest having a supply of plastic bags and a marker. there are a lot of parts to keep track of. Bolts of slightly different length and so on.

good luck..a free ibr motor is a good thing.
