    Jet Pump Oil Seal Replacement

What is the easiest way to remove and re-install the oil seal on the jet pump. I don't have a press and am not replacing the bearings.

Got ski used, had a fishing line sucked in all around front seal and its leaking oil. Bearings look new and no water in oil. Found the leak dripping onto my garage floor.

Can I pop it out with a screwdriver and press the new seal in with a sized socket that only contacts the outer metal lip of the seal and give it a few taps with a hammer?

Use a shaft seal puller, leave the screwdriver on the bench you don't want to tear anything up socket's make pretty good driver's if you don't have oil lip seal seating tools.

Would a slide hammer work to pull the seal out?

Ive successfully used slide hammers to pull seals on transfer cases, transmission outputs, and rear main seals on cars/trucks but not on a ski. If you can drill a tiny hole in the seal to thread the tip of screw through the slide hammer should take it out. Make sure you dont get any shavings in there if you do drill.

Yes. slide puller and a screw should work just fine.
