nice ride turns into more damage
My wife and I were out for a beautiful ride last night. That's the good part. On one portion of our river, the water level became very low. Before I could tell her to turn the machine off, debris / small rocks We're ingested. I'm assuming this has damaged the impeller as the thrust is no longer the same and speed is way down. Comments on proboble damage? Can it be repaired myself or best to take it to the shop? It's a 2013 wake 215.
Thanks.

If its under warranty take it to the dealer.
Otherwise you'll need to get in there and see what the issue is. First things to look at is if anything is wrapped/stuck around the prop and inspect the condition of the wear ring and prop. If nothing is stuck in there chances are the prop got dinged up and the wear ring. Replace those two items and chances are good it will be good to go then unless it really sucked up a lot of sand.

Yeah, at minimum the wear ring is gone. I would guess the impeller as well. It is a fairly easy job to do yourself. It'll save you quite a bit of money as well. If you crawl under the ski and look up through the intake grate, you'll be able to see the damage. Like dsteinmann said, it's the cost of having fun.... Good luck

My wife and I both sucked up some sticks at the same time on what were basically brand new skis. Luckily we didn't have the damage like you do. My wife's ski won't go faster than 53/54 after that but thats only 1-2 mph off on our skis.
The dealer (from what I've been told) will charge a lot to fix it. Ours warned us when we bought our ski, the warranty won't cover it and I don't think insurance will. He said the replacement of a wear ring is around $1000 due to the time it takes to pull it all apart.

Wow that's a nasty place to ride. Rocks and limbs? No offense but I hope you really know that place. I got 20 feet of fishing line wrapped around my drive shaft and it cavitated. My bud sucked up a water bottle cap in ocean type water and it caused grief between the impeller and ring. These pumps are sensitive.
