    Ultra 260x Tensioner Bolt

    Hi Everyone,

My belt tensioner bolt for the supercharger keeps working its way loose. The belt is till nice and tight because I believe that is held with the idler. However I don't believe the tensioner bolt should be coming loose. I tried tightening it slightly (didn't want to affect the belts tension) but it still came loose. I could probably put lock-tight on the bolt but want you options on that first. I don't think it should be coming loose. I attached a picture below of the bolt in question. Also is the belt tensioner gauge really necessary? Thanks for all the help!

You know that it is left-threaded?

Are you sure? According to the service manual I think it shows it as clockwise to tighten which I did.

the bolt will always come loose thats how its designed the pulley is locked into place with the centre bolt in the bearing. there is a washer to keep the bolt in position but loose..

+1.. CRC, Fluid film hell even WD-40, anything. I know it's only a small pic but that engine has wayy too much corrosion. You gotta keep that thing so damned slick it looks like a glazed donut because rust and corrosion is a real bitch on stuff. Just not on the belt..

of course you tighten it to the right ,but it is still((( left handed thread))) and tightens it by pushing idler pulley away which tightens the belt!! By turning screw clockwise. Its over engineered so people who only know right to tighten left to loosen so they made it left handed thread , if you look at it close you will see a welded washer on each side of the bracket allowing it to push the idler tighter!!
