Gas consumption question...
I have a 2014 310r with 15 hours I've noticed a few things.
1) I was riding with my buddy the last few days and he has a modded frz and I run out of gas while he still has half a tank. We ride at the same speeds pretty much the entire time. Anyone experience this?
2) When I first got my ski, I was able to pull it all the way up to 67mph. Today it was having trouble getting over 60mph. I know that their was a recall on the ECU of my unit. How do I confirm I have the recalled ECU and could this also be the reason I'm burning so much gas?
Thanks guys. I'm a newb here and with jet skis. All I've been doing is reading but this concerns me.

#1. Not sure how modded your buddy's FZ is, but generally a modded FZR won't have to work as hard to go cruising speeds as any stock ski, so it's normal that his fuel efficiency would be better. While you may be going 50 @ 6000 rpm, he may be only turning 4500 or so to go the same speed.
#2. Ask your dealer if he'll let you try a 2015 ECU to see if that's your problem. I think the new ECU's have different PNs as well.

I would not completely trust the Fuel Gauges on any PWC. What you can hang your hat on though is when your reserve Buzzer goes off, you have about 7.5 gallons left in the Tank. If you are twisting the throttle hard, you have about 22 miles left of riding. Eco Mode or more discretion with the throttle, about 27 miles left of riding. JB

My yamaha only has 7-8 gallons left and shows 3 out of 4 bars (damn near full). My kawi low fuel buzzer comes on with 8+gallons left in it.... gotta run them dry to figure their quirks sometimes

What John writes above about the fuel gauge is certainly correct.
I am curious after you guys ride - how many gallons he puts back in to fill vs. how many gallons you need to add to fill.
Chris posted his comparison about fuel consumption here:

The ECU Part Number was shared by GZA and is here:

Does anyone happen to know where I can find the part Number of my current ECU?

Half a tank on the yamaha is 9 gallons, the buzzer on the kawi is 8 left. You have essentially the same left, but you used more.
Same speed, same distance, my fzs and 300 use the same within a gallon.
