Trouble removing RXP intercooler

Trying to remove the stock intercooler on 07 RXP but having a problem. It seems the last 1/4 or less of it seems to be stuck in there. I can spin it and wiggle it in any direction, but I can't pull it out. I'm sitting ontop of the ski and puling on it as hard as I can and it won't budge.

Intake manifold bolts are out, is there something on the rear end of the intercooler that is holding it in the manifold somehow?

there is a thick foam gasket on the TB side
I have never tried to remove the IC when the manifold was still in the ski

Finally got it out after prying the manifold a little higher. I'm not sure how some people get it out without even unbolting the manifold.

Look at all the crap on it, could this be worth a few RPMs?

i undid the clamp and hoses and pulled mine right out no problem

After a nice soaking it came out looking better than new.

That thick coating of crap must have reduced the performance of the intercooler for sure.

You should check it for leaks while it's out

you know that is the outside of the IC
and there is still a flame arrester on the inside

I know it's the outside but doesn't the air flow around this area to get cooled down?

cooling happens when the air flows from the inside to the outside
and by the looks of the outside you can bet it was not lowing as much as it should
