2008 SeaDoo GTI 130 display cycles on/off every 15 sec without key. Drains battery

Anybody know what would cause this? The display cluster powers up for a couple of seconds and then shuts down every 15 seconds without the key anywhere near the ski. Kills the battery overnight. New battery, fully charged. Cables tight. Runs great.

I'll have to double check, had one a couple months ago doing the same thing, I'm pretty sure it's the ecu

What's involved if it's the ECU? Repair or replace? How expensive?

First thing to check would be the DESS post, the reed switch that controls the main power relay is likely stuck on. Second thing to check is the main power relay itself.

Yes i'd check the DESS post as its not communicating with the ECU

This is also caused by a bad connection or corrosion build up at the main power fuse.

Usually this is caused by the star stop button. Try cutting 1 wire on the start stop button, and it will stop beeping. Cut both wires, and just connect it with each other to start the ski. Happy trying...!!

Sorry, forgot to mention I had another 08 gti doing the same thing. The first one has a bad ecu(replace), the second one had a bad dess post. Unplug the dess and see if it stops. If it doesn't stop, the ecu is bad. If it stops, the dess is bad.

I disconnected the dess post wire and it stopped so I guess I must replace. Pretty easy?
