Current fuel used with performance mods ?
Looking for info from those with performance mods on Sea Doo 4tecs. Interested in what is available in your area and what works for your current mods. The E85 does not apply in this case.
Is ethanol free fuel available in your area ?
What octane level 91, 93 etc ?
Is it a branded fuel (Shell, Sunoco, Conoco, VP) ?
Do you mix pump gas with race gas ?
Use octane booster ?
Your current boost and timing ?
93 octane is almost impossible to find here. Two locations in Oklahoma City carry it. Location #1 is $4.59 a gallon, location #2 is $5.00 a gallon. The standard non ethanol premium is 91 octane that is available most everywhere for $2.79 per gallon.

I was told by a suicide jocky years ago. "They're only two gasoline producers,Exxon and everyone else as in it's all the same. Only difference between all others is the additives.". Now that was a few years ago. I run E free 93.

davec, its all about timing
one fuel may be fine with one tune
but will knock on another tune
or end up like Gus's motor
Ethanol in fuel is not the end of the world
the trick is to use the same fuel every time
even if the fuel has 15% E your tuned for it
and it is not uncommon to see high E %
its a cheap high octane additive that most new vehicles can deal with
don't get me wrong E has its bad points too

I'd only be tuning to what you have available in your area. For many that is 91 or 93 octane. I won't be concerned about 10% ethanol in it or not, it isn't going to make difference worth noting in your logs. If it did every tuning company would be pointing you to the exact fuel to use.

Brandon is on the edge
but he is counting on the ecu to adjust if necessary
I am not a gambling guy so you wont see me that close to the edge
a safety zone is always good, to loose it for a mph or two is crazy
