I give up this ski is officially a lemon.............
2008 RXTX ...........Paid way to much for this ski to begin with from a dealer(my impatience my fault...I own that one).........
1. bought it with 29 hours
2. At 35 hours it spun the #2 rod bearing
3. At 45 hours the Clutch washers fell apart off the supercharger
4. At 51 hours the intercooler starts leaking
5. at 56 hours (now).....was riding today for about 10 minutes (maybe 30mph)......boom there goes the headgasket ...........CORRECTION cracked cylinder

Litteraly every other time Ive taken this thing out I have some kind of problem with it.......oh that reminds me .....I forgot about the intercooler springing a leak 5 hours ago......let me edit real quick. The only positive thing I can say is its never the same thing twice.

yep, problem ski = prime candidate for insanity
pull the engine and rebuild it = nothing can go wrong as you fixed everything in the engine that can go wrong and have thrown in some better parts, balance etc whilst inside
put a turbo on it = do it off the bat as every speed fiend ends up at the idea of turbo eventually. may as well skip the money sink that is superchargers etc that you will end up upgrading anyway
never look back, cause all the people you beat will form an angry mob who hate you
turbos breed hate among those who dont have turbos
im in the middle of my conversion now, i built pretty much all of my turbo kit myself.
id suggest you just buy a GRF kit though

Whoever rebuilt the motor after the rod obviously did something wrong, used cheap headgasket or old bolts

Fix it, sell it, use money as a down payment on a brand spanking new ski. "problem solved"

I had an 08 RXT-X also that was a lemon with pump tunnel failure TWICE! Dealer gave me a 95% refund and I got my 2010 T-X at cost.
I agree totally, fix it, sell it, move on.
Additionally, the S3/T3 hulls perform MUCH better than the old hull and are much easier to mod and work on.Last edited by jpt7779; 08-09-2015 at 08:03 AM.
