There is no oil filter. It's an oil injected system. You keep oil in the oil tank which gets injected into the carbs to mix with the fuel as it enters the engine - but see K447 post below - he's right, good advice on the in line filter.

There is a small inline oil filter between the oil tank and the oil pump. Replace with a genuine Polaris OEM filter, not aftermarket. Available from several online Polaris parts OEM web stores and from various Polaris dealers.

See my signature links, under Parts Sources, for some additional info and links.

After the inline oil filter is changed you can bleed the air from the supply hose.

An alternate approach is to add some oil to the fuel (first premix the oil with some gasoline in a separate container, don't just dump straight oil down the tank filler). The oil mixed into the fuel will provide lubrication while the air in the oil hoses works its way out. The extra oil will increase exhaust smoke but will not harm the engine.

Does anyone know of how-to video for replacing oil filter? Without having to remove any components such as carb cover? I can't seem to get to the oil line easily.

I rebuilt carbs a couple years back (prob ~5-10 hrs use, max, since then), and I really don't want to take apart if I don't have to.

Thinking of pulling oil tank, but am wondering if there's a better / easier way.

    Thanks in advance!
