Black grab bar help!
So I purchased a black grab bar. It had some fading and such but I used to back to black and it did help it but it still has light areas. How can I get it looking new again do I have to repaint it?

even the paint won't stick forever.
try mebbe a 'magic eraser' followed by 'wipe new' but even thats a shot-in-the-dark.
...if you want new looking, new is about the only way to go...

Some have had good luck with painting them. I purchased one new, they are around $75.00.

Here's what brings them back. I take a little hand held propane torch and just run it over the plastic and you'll see the coloring come back to shiney

Wow some good ideas to restore plastic. Wish I saw this before I painted mine.

The heat method is a total crapshoot and does not last. Paint is your best bet along with clear coat. I painted mine and it looks perfect, better than I thought it would.

Heat gun method works well. I used an electric paint burner. Also works to smooth off any scratches.

Thanks for the ideas guys! I will try the heat gun method tonight. I tried a few more rounds of back to black and then put some Turtle Wax Ice on it and it helped but you can still see some discoloration. Hopefully burning it works.

Good luck, make sure you clean off all that stuff you've been applying on it before you do the heat method else it will all get sunk into the plastic. It's hard to get a uniform result, don't judge the results until a day afterwards. From my experience the heat method looked fine right after it was done, a day later it looked worse than before.
I'll never do the heat method ever again, going straight to paint.
