Grovites block is finally here!
Where do I start? I pulled the loose valve cover off and checked the oil filter......beautiful stuff there folks. It is great to be able to comprehend the whole motor by looking at one on a pallet. This will surely help me understand the workings of this intricate unit. Currently the old style oil canister is in the hull. I DO have the updated version sittin in the box Randy sent it in. My question is..... Do I pull off all of Grovites plumbing and re use my existing hoses? And... His turbo has a bit of wobble to it. Not on the axial play but between the housing and impeller. Think it wise to rebuild this unit and use my existing turbo. Main concern is getting lost in all the plumbing! Please advise.

Cool. Post some pics so we can see your starting point.
Not sure if it has any front gears... flywheel/stator/cover... cradles, ect. on it...
I'd re-torque the head nuts. Check the valve clearances. Swap over all the needed parts. Don't put on the manifolds or heat xchnger (or bracket). You can fully put the front together all the way to the intercooler mount/bracket. And the rear cradle/pto flywheel/coupler. The rest goes on in pieces in the hull.
I'd change the oil filter too... while easy to get to. If you changing the t-stat... do it now too.
As for oil tank (stock vs upgrade). The plumbing is the same... but the hoses are different. The full upgrade kit comes with all new hoses. They have slightly different bends/shape/lengths... to accommodate the new tank and rollover tank. Should have instructions with it.
Clean all the gasket/seal locations... both on block and bolt-on pieces. I'm betting your block has all hoses removed. So you will need to get all the hoses off your current block. Then buy a butt load of hose clamps or crimp clamps to get them all back on.
Cheers!

Do not use your old oil plumbing if the engine has glitter in it.

Alrighty then. oil tank emptied per spec, battery disconnected, throttle body off, intake bolts removed (does not want to come off yet. And the inside bolt on PTO side was a joy!) inter cooler is unplumbed up top.

They got me! I am working on intake dissection. The 4 bolts going into the head are easy enough. But How in the heck do you get the bolt from under the Cooling rail on the PTO side? Thats my dog feeling my pain.

I can't keep track of all these different threads talking about the same effort. Not that you asked for my opinion
