    Difference between 420898040 and 420898042 camshaft chains

    I am rebuilding two engines one is a 2011 SC and the other is a 2004 SC - i was thinking of taking the 2011 timing chain and using it for the 2004 and buying a new one for the 2011 but after looking i see there are two different part numbers - they look identical to me, what am i missing?

    Difference between 420898040 and 420898042 camshaft chains

    I think I read somewhere the difference in part numbers reflects the supplier and country of origin of that part.

    My factory 04 chain had IWIS stamped on the links and from everything I read was supposed to be a good chain but I replaced it anyways with another IWIS chain for right at $100.

    If I remember correctly, there were a lot of people with broken timing chains in 2011. Something about a bad batch or a new company making them

    043 044 = No
    042 = Yes (IWIS) buy two new ones
    040 = YES (older IWIS)
