Removing Supercharger from 260x 2009. In Progress.. Need Help...

    Hi,

my supercharger is seize.. and I need to remove it.. I did some research, but, I can't find details on how to this work.. I did see the explanation how to remove a supercharger strap from a 300x.. and I saw some other tread that was telling to follow those instructions to remove the charger..

I am there.. But, I am unable to reach some of the bolts under the supercharger (front one).. Do I have to remove the exhaust manifold absolutely ? Do I have to lift the engine to be able to remove the exhaust manifold if that is the case. ?

Thanks for your help.. I just don't know where to go from there.. and dont want to lift the engine and remove too many parts that I don't need to remove if it got a better / faster way to do it..

you need to be a contorsionest and reach infront of the s/c for the two mounting bolts either use a socket and extension or ring spanners. if you cant do it you will need to remove the exhaust manifold but there is also a hidden bolt right in the centre that requires a certain shaped ring spanner to access it whilst in the ski.

no need to move motor but you have already done that.

Ya. Thats my problem. I am not enough contorsionest to get to the supercharge bolt directly without removing the exhaust manifold. And like you said. Im unable to remove the center bolt. Don't have any tool that will fit there. Grrr

i guess that i will go like what the shop manual says and lift the engine a bit. I'm not far from there i guess.

Ok, I finally been able to find a tool to be able to remove the exhaust manifold..
and get to the front supercharger bolts..

    Ive got more issue now..

First.. I did find a bolt in the bottom of the hull.. and after, I realise that its a bolt from the supercharger braket.. Its broken.. (see pictures).. I only got the kawa for the pass 12 hours.. (106 hours now on the gauge) so, it dont come from me.. bracket look as been broken for a long time..
    ,'
so now.. that my supercharger housing braket is broken.. is it a big deal ? It's a rear bolt + I'm unable to split the supercharger more than what you see in the pictures.. Its seem to be stock there.. I did use lot of force.. I feel like I will break the cover if I use more force.. Can the shaft can be seize in the bearing ?

here are some pictures of my progress..

The supercharger pulley seem to be fine, is bearing too..
    the interior look good ?.
    but for the housing..
and how to finish to split the housing.. So , I can get to the interior.. grrrrr

for 12 hours of fun.. its start to be a pain in the a**

    Thanks

If i can't save the supercharger. The dealer as one. Equal to 1500$ usd. Tax in. i think its a good price?

If i can have it split. I might have the bracket weld up.

As for the tensionner pulley / bearing. you said that i should change it.
Should i go with the oem or i saw some aftermarket claiming that they are better over the week stock one ?

The oem tensionner bracket. Is it often that they crack like that ? Should i try to find a better one ?

Many questions. Thanks for your help.

I am reading a lot in the pass days on that. Did not think that i will have to learn all that after only 12 hours of riding. Lol.

    Realy appreciate

(btw. Sorry for my english. Not my first language)

As for information. Its only use in fresh water. No salt

Common for front and rear mounts to break. I thought it was seized? Did you manage to unseize it?

it still seize. Im unable to split de casing by more the 1/2 inch or less. I had to leave for work.
I try to pry it. And nothing. The cover with the 2 gears dont move back more then that. Not like in the video that they say to tap
gentlely with a plastix hammer om the shaft. And it will
come out. It don't want to move more.

Any idee why it dont want to split more ? (See picture) ?
i still have to force more ?

    Everything is back in place.
went for a test drive. Had a hard time to hit the same top speed.
Boost seem to be at 11-12 psi according to the dash
waiting on the tensionner belt tool from kawa tomorrow.
11-12 psi. That should be the target boost right ?
